Gaddani Karigar & Gaddani Manager

1. Introduction

Gaddani develops two companion mobile applications — Gaddani Karigar and Gaddani Manager — to support in-house tailoring and product processing workflows at Gaddani. This page explains what data the apps collect, why it is collected, how it is used, and the core functionality of each app.

2. Apps & Purpose

Gaddani Karigar — used by tailoring floor employees (karigars) to view assigned work orders, scan QR codes on products to pull up product details and tailoring instructions, update tailoring progress, and submit completion details via a Tailoring Form.

Gaddani Manager — used by supervisors and managers to assign jobs, view product and employee status, approve completed tailoring forms, and manage inventory and reporting.

3. App Core Functionality

Common functionality (both apps)

• Scan QR codes printed on product tags to retrieve product details and tailoring instructions.
• Display and edit Tailoring Form data (measurements, stitch type, required alterations, due date).
• Allow employees to update status: In Progress, Paused, Completed, or Requires Review.
• Send minimal metadata (product ID and status updates) to the backend for inventory and tracking.
• Authentication for employees and managers (username/password or company SSO integration).

Gaddani Karigar — Specific features

• Camera-based QR code scanning to fetch product records quickly.
• Offline caching of recently accessed product details (for short-term usage when network is unavailable).
• Tailoring Form: fields for measurement entries, checkboxes for alterations, photo attachment (optional), comments.
• Quick-submit completion button that records time and worker ID.

Gaddani Manager — Specific features

• Job assignment and reassignment to karigars or teams.
• Approval workflow for completed tailoring forms.
• Inventory and product status dashboard.
• Exportable reports (CSV) for production metrics.

4. Data We Collect

Data provided directly by users

• Employee identifier (name, employee ID, email).
• Product ID / SKU (obtained via QR scan or manual entry).
• Tailoring Form entries: measurements, stitch/alteration choices, completion status, comments.
• Optional photos attached by the employee (e.g., to show a completed alteration or defect).

Automatically collected data

• App usage logs (time of actions, which product IDs were accessed) for audit and troubleshooting.
• Device metadata (device model and OS version) for compatibility and support purposes.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect location data by default.
• We do not collect personal photos outside of optional attachments to product records.
• We do not collect payment information.

5. Camera Permission & QR Code Scanning

Why we request camera permission: The apps require access to your device camera to scan QR codes printed on product tags. Scanning a QR code lets the app retrieve the product record, tailoring instructions, and any attached production notes instantly.

Permission behavior: When the app requests camera permission, the device will show a system prompt (App Store / Play Store and device OS controlled). The app will only use the camera for QR scanning while the app is in use and will not record video or audio.

Camera — Required to scan QR codes printed on product tags so employees can quickly load product details and tailoring instructions. The camera is used only for scanning and no photos or video are sent without user action.

6. How We Use & Share Data

• To display product details, tailoring instructions, and to update product status in our production management backend.
• To generate reports and track productivity within the Gaddani manufacturing process.
• To troubleshoot issues and provide technical support.

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with third-party services only where necessary (for example, cloud-hosting providers or analytics providers). Any third-party partners are contractually required to follow appropriate security and privacy practices.

7. Data Retention & Storage

Product records, Tailoring Forms, and status updates are retained as required for business operations and auditing. Retention periods may vary by record type; the default retention period is 3 years unless otherwise required by law. Data is stored on secure servers and access is restricted to authorized personnel.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures (TLS in transit, access controls on servers) to protect data. However, no system is completely secure — if a security incident occurs we will notify affected parties as required by applicable law.

9. Children

These apps are intended for use by Gaddani employees and not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. User Controls

• Employees can edit or correct Tailoring Form entries before submission.
• To remove optional photos, users can delete them from the product record prior to submission.
• Data deletion or account removal requests should be sent to the contact email below; some production records may be retained for auditing and regulatory purposes.

11. Tailoring Form — Typical Fields

Below is an example of fields collected in the Tailoring Form. Adjust for your internal workflow as needed.

• Product ID / SKU (auto-filled by QR scan)
• Order number
• Customer measurements (chest, waist, sleeve length, etc.)
• Stitch type / Alteration checklist
• Special instructions / comments
• Optional photo attachment (image of work-in-progress or defect)
• Completion status and timestamp
• Employee ID (who processed the item)

12. Third-Party Services & Analytics

We may use third-party services for hosting, crash reporting, and analytics. Data shared with these services is minimized and limited to what is necessary for the service to operate. Third-party providers are prohibited from using data for other purposes.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will post a clear notice in the apps and update the effective date at the top of this document.
